kong3 - hole; pore
Here is a little lesson from zoology and animal anatomy. The word "osculum" refers to a pore found in sponges (Phylum Porifera) through which water is expelled from the creature into the surrounding watery environment.

In the picture below, the number 1 indicates where the osculum (or excurrent pore) is situated.

pei1 - 1. a fetus three-months old; three months of pregnancy 2. embryo; things in embryonic stage; unfinished moldings 3. tender sprouts of plants
ya2 - sprout; shoot; bud
According to Webster's Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary, a plumule is "the primary bud of a plant embryo usu. situated at the apex of the hypocotyl and consisting of leaves and an epicotyl."
